Easter is almost here!!!  My family is super excited for this upcoming holiday.  There are tons of things going on this weekend.  Check out my top 5 family events for the DC and Northern Virginia area.

1. First Annual Co-op 5K Walk/Run - March 31st 8:30am-12pm

Come join your neighbors at the 1st Annual Co-op 5K Walk/Run.  Check in is at Old Mill Park at Shelter #1 from 8:30-9am.  Registration is $35.

2.  Braehead Farm's Annual Easter Event - March 31st 9:30am-5:30pm

Looking for an egg hunt that your children will love?  Then check out the Braehead Farm Annual Easter Event.  Your children will be able to hunt for a dozen eggs, take a picture with the Easter Bunny, go on a hayride, do a scavenger hunt, and play on the playground.  They can also wander around the farm and check out all of the farm animals!  Go to the website listed above for all of the details.

3.  Strong Tower Presents: Easter Eggstravaganza 2018 - March 31st 10am-12pm

This free event includes an egg hunt, an obstacle course, Easter basket giveaways, inflatables, and a visit from the Easter Bunny!  

4.  "Fit History" Hike: Ellwood, Parker's Store Road and the Federal Line - March 31st 10am

Look for something to do that will get you outdoors in the local area?  Then this hike is perfect for you!  Historian John Hennessy will be leading this hike.  The hike will take you through Federal Line and the Union high command areas.  The hike is 4 miles long.  Don't forget to bring sturdy shoes, water, a snack, and bug spray.

5.  Blossom Kite Festival - March 31st 10am-4:30pm

15th St. & Constitution Ave. NW,

Come down to the Washington Monument and see the most anticipated event of the Cherry Blossom Festival.  There will be kite demonstrations as well as a stunt flying competition.  The competition is made up of expert kite fliers from around the world.  There will also be a kite making center for kids.  Or you can bring your own kite!
