Top 5 Family Events This Weekend March 16th-18th

This weekend is St. Patrick's Day! Enjoy it by participating in some family friendly events. Here are my top 5 family events for this weekend.

1. St. Patrick's Day 5K Mud Run and 1 Mile Fun Run - March 17th at 8am

Miller's Farm is hosting a St. Patrick's Day 5K Mud Run and 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit St. Patrick School in Fredericksburg. This is an event the whole family can enjoy. The Mud Run starts at 9am and the Fun Run starts at 10am. There will be coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and delicious breakfast treats. Wear your favorite St. Patrick's day gear for an extra bit of fun!

2. 0.5K Couch Potato Run at Adventure South - March 17th at 9am

Not up for a 5K but still want to support a great cause? Then sign up for the 0.5K Couch Potato Run at Adventure South. You don't even have to run this race. You can skip, hop, jump, or roller blade your way to the finish line. A portion of the $20 entrance fee ($15 for those under 21) goes to support local fire and rescue squads. The entrance fee includes a post-race “Kegs and Eggs” breakfast buffet, a free pint glass, and (1) complimentary fill of beer. For those under 21 the fee includes the race and the “Kegs and Eggs” buffet. There will also be prizes for fastest time, best individual costume, and best group theme.

3.  Fredericksburg Fine Arts Show and Sale - March 16th-18th from 10am-8pm (10am-4pm on March 18th)

Come and enjoy works from 80 local artists. Works include paintings, photographs, and drawings. You can browse and buy during this free event. The Art Show is sponsored by Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation and the Women’s Club of Fredericksburg.

4.  St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival - March 17th starting at Noon

Who doesn't love a great St. Patrick's Day Parade?! This year's parade goes down Main St. in Fredericksburg past the Rappahannock Railway Museum. The parade will include fire trucks, classic cars, high school marching bands, community organizations, Irish dancers, horses, military equipment and local pageant winners. After the parade, enjoy the festival at A. Smith Bowman Distillery. The festival will have local vendors, live music and entertainment, family-friendly activities, food from local food trucks, and beer. They will also be collecting food for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

5.  Cherry Blossom Festival Events - March 17th-April 1st from 10am-6pm

It's Cherry Blossom time! I love this time of year. It reminds me of my time spent in Okinawa, Japan. This year there will be performances on the ANA Performance Stage at the Tidal Basin Welcome Center. To check out the schedule of events this year, click on the link above.
