Top 5 Family Events DC and Northern Virginia May 18th-20th
I think the warmth is FINALLY here to stay. Enjoy this great weather and the beautiful flowers in bloom here in Northern Virginia! It's too beautiful out to stay inside so here are some family friendly suggestions for things to do in NOVA and DC this coming weekend!
1. Bricks and Boards in the 'Burg - May 19th 10am

Enjoy this fun family event on Saturday! This walking tour highlights the history and architecture of the Fredericksburg Downtown Historic District. The tour meets at the Market Square. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for students. If you can't make it this weekend, no worries. Tours are given every Saturday until October.
2. Art in the Park at the Fredericksburg Farmers Market - May 19th 9am-1pm

The Farmers Market is back! Every first and third Saturday the Farmers Market holds Art in the Park. Come browse different artists works as well as household good. While you're there stop by the Farmers Market and pick up some fresh fruits and veggies!
3. Virginia Renaissance Faire - May 18th-June 10th 10am-5pm

The Virginia Renaissance Faire is located at the Lake Anna Winery. Activities include music, stage performances, jousting, hound coursing, living history demonstrations, and more! There will also be merchants selling jewelry, clothing, decorations, and one of a kind handmade artwork. For history buffs there will be living history demonstrations like the historical kitchen and medieval combat. Don't miss the delicious faire food as well. They will have everything from curry to turkey legs! This weekend they will be celebrating Celtic Weekend and Scout Weekend. Tickets are $10 for ages 6 and up. Children 5 and under are free.
4. EAA Young Eagles at Shannon Airport - May 19th 10am-2pm

5. Passport DC - Throughout May - 10am-4pm

This event sounds amazing! Have you ever wanted to explore the Embassies of DC? Now is your one and only chance during the year. This Saturday, Passport DC will host the Fiesta Asia Street Fair. There will be over 1000 performers, plus martial arts demonstrations, Pan-Asian cuisine, a shopping bazaar, kid friendly interactive activities, a talent competition, cultural parade, Bollywood street dancing, and exhibits of traditional and contemporary Asian crafts. It's best to take the Metro since parking will be limited. This event is free!
